I am Damont McClellan, 45 years old. I have been in the concrete business for a total of 23 years, of which I have worked 11 years at Thomas.
I do plant operations at a plant in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, and my job consists of many different tasks. I work on the trucks, I work on the plant, I drive, and I do some batching of concrete. Part of my job is also to train drivers. I teach them how to slump concrete and how to be safe doing it. You want to be a people person in this job – it makes things a lot easier.
I usually start the day in the office, and after that, I do some driving. If something at the plant breaks down, I go there and help out to get it running smoothly again. Every day is not going to be easy, but you have to make the best of the situation.

The best part about beeing a part of Team Thomas is the guys I work with. Since we spend the majority of our time together, we are like a family. We are the only plant in Myrtle Beach that has people who have been in the business for this long, so we know how to run it together. We take the good with the bad and the bad with the good together.
