I’m Lea, and I am 28 years old. In my free time, I enjoy meeting up with friends and socializing. Before I started working in disposition, I used to work as a tractor driver so I’m kind of new to the concrete industry. In my free time I’m also very involved in an organization called “Junger BLU,” which gathers young people in the contractor and farming industry. We hold a lot of meetings, study trips, and other events that I like to attend.
My role is quite unique because it doesn’t currently exist. I will be starting the division for disposition in Schleswig-Holstein North. This division already exists in the south, but now we’re expanding it to the north. In disposition, my job involves taking orders from customers about their concrete needs—how much, what kind, and when they need it. I then fit their orders into our schedule, decide from which plants to deliver, and book the orders into our system, SIMMA. I also manage the schedule for each plant and oversee the allocation of trucks. Each area has a fixed pool of trucks, but we can share resources with other areas to optimize usage and save costs.
Right now, I’m still in the learning phase, so every day is a bit different. I usually start my day by checking in with my colleagues, who are training me. Concrete is a new field for me, so they’re helping me become a “concrete specialist.” Next year, when the Schleswig-Holstein North division starts, I will be sitting in the Lürchau office without any of the other colleagues from disposition anymore, so I try so soak up as much information as possible now.
As of right now it’s only been just about 2 months.
Definitely my colleagues! I have a really nice boss and very supportive teammates. We recently had a team event where we had pizza and watched a handball game together—it was a lot of fun and made us feel like a small family.
