Knowledge Together: Seminar Highlights Key Research for Climate-Neutral Concrete

On 25 May, the Family Thomas Foundation, Chalmers University of Technology, and Thomas Concrete Group AB hosted an intimate seminar focused on advancing scientific research and education in ready‑mixed and precast concrete, as well as identifying key research areas essential for achieving climate‑neutral concrete. The event aligned closely with our 2026 theme, “Knowledge Together.”

We were especially pleased to welcome Professor Kimberly Kurtis from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an important academic partner located in one of Thomas Concrete Group’s key markets. The seminar also featured presentations from Chalmers researchers, including Associate Professor Arezou Babaahmadi and Senior Lecturer Carlos Gil Berrocal, who shared insights from ongoing research projects, several of which are supported by the Family Thomas Foundation.

The seminar offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on the current state of concrete research and to highlight the importance of collaboration and shared knowledge in driving the industry toward a climate‑neutral future.
