The school is being built using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), a construction method that combines reinforced concrete with integrated insulation. The solution provides strong, energy-efficient and durable walls with long-term performance benefits. The concrete used is the low-carbon THOMAGREEN concrete.

Bluffton and surrounding areas in Beaufort County have experienced rapid growth in recent years, increasing the need for new public infrastructure, including schools.

May River Elementary School covers approximately 10,500 square meters and will accommodate up to 800 students for Beaufort County School District. Construction is on going and the school is scheduled to open for the 2027-2028 academic year.
