Over the course of the project, Thomas Concrete Inc. will deliver a total of 80,000 cubic yards of concrete, including a significant 4,300 cubic yard mass concrete pour containing only 25% cement. This mass pour was executed efficiently and finished ahead of schedule.
Our technical expertise was instrumental in meeting the project’s demanding specifications. The concrete mix, designed to achieve a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 181 kg/m³, also fulfilled stringent CO2 reduction and Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) requirements. These specifications are typically seen in regions with high seismic activity, underscoring the unique challenges of constructing such a tall structure. Through meticulous preplanning and extensive collaboration with the design team, we developed a high-strength, 7,000 psi concrete mix that met all performance-based criteria. The success of the initial 4,300 cubic yard pour, completed with zero rejected trucks and ahead of schedule, highlights Thomas Concrete’s ability to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional quality in complex, large-scale projects.
