The project commenced in January 2021, with the first concrete delivery by Thomas Beton in August of the same year. Most of the concrete—50,000 cubic meters—is hydrotechnical, designed to effectively withstand water. In total, over 55,000 cubic meters of concrete have been delivered for the project.
The riverbank will serve as a defense against natural forces
“Despite the challenge of pumping the hydro mix through a pipeline floating on the river, we successfully delivered several variants of hydrotechnical concrete and ensured continuous delivery to the project,” says Krzysztof Płotkowski, Regional Technologist at Thomas Beton, Poland.
The project will be completed at the end of this year. The riverbank will serve as a defense against natural forces, safeguarding the city of Elbląg and its residents from flooding for many years to come.
