Period:2022-2027
The Levensau High Bridge is a high level arch bridge that spans the Kiel Canal in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

The old Levensau High Bridge has been a landmark of the region since 1894. But time leaves its mark: The bridge became a dangerous bottleneck for shipping traffic. A new construction with a higher clearance profile was decided upon. However, the old bridge still has an important task: It houses the largest European winter quarters for bats. This is to remain so. Therefore, the southern abutment will remain and will be spanned without contact. Since 2022, @Thomas Beton GmbH has been supplying @BEMO TUNNELING GMBH with high-quality concrete for the new construction. By 2027, around 30,000 cubic meters will have been installed.
