PROJECT FACTS

Type:Infrastructure
Location:Thomas Betong, Sweden
Developer:Ringhals AB
Period:1965-1969
For over 50 years, Ringhals has stood for power and stability in the Swedish energy system. Harnessing nuclear power is one of humanity’s most advanced achievements, and this plant is a living monument to Swedish engineering.

In a time of transition, fossil-free base power is not just a resource, it is a prerequisite for a functioning society. From industrial competitiveness to the warmth of home. Around the clock, all year round.

Ringhals Nuclear Power Plant is located on the west coast of Sweden, about 60 kilometers south of Gothenburg. It has four reactors, two of which are currently in operation. Ringhals is one of the few nuclear power plants that uses both boiling water reactors and pressurized water reactors. Thomas Betong AB delivered 700,000 m3 of concrete during its construction, between 1965 and 1969.
