It’s all about us – our shared foundation and local strength​

"We have 170 plants in five countries and in different markets, but what unites us in Team Thomas is 'It’s all about us,'" says Angela Holecek, HR Manager in Sweden. We know where we come from, we share the vision and direction, and we know where we are heading.

This approach has also been recognized externally. In the 2025 Brilliant Awards, Thomas Concrete Group won the category Employer of The Year within the Construction, Manufacturing and Industrials sector. For us, this recognition is not about a single survey – it is a confirmation of the culture and way of working that shape our everyday life across the company.

A common foundation

“It’s all about us” – that is what we call our strategic platform. It provides the basis for how we work together, no matter where in the world we are. The platform builds on our heritage as a family-owned and long-term company and on our culture of supporting each other and always striving to improve. It is also founded on our position as the concrete specialist and shared vision of being perceived as the best in the industry.

At the same time, everyday reality looks different across our plants and countries. Each unit therefore finds its own ways of working, whether it is scheduling, customer solutions, or the daily dialog between manager and employee. The important thing is that we adapt locally, while always keeping the bigger picture together, Angela explains.

Local leadership, shared direction

What characterizes Thomas Concrete Group is the combination of strong local leadership and a clear overall direction. Transparency throughout the organization strengthens this and creates engagement across all countries.

“Many people may not always know exactly who sits on the management team, but most feel that they understand where we are going and how the company is doing. In addition to communication through our leaders, we have the employee magazine Team Thomas Magazine, our intranet, and regular messages from our CEO Hans. Local management teams also communicate actively in all countries. This high level of openness is a strength,” says Angela.

A culture of warmth and long-term commitment

Our culture is characterized by caring for and supporting each other, while also being alert and customer-oriented. It shapes everyday life at our plants and permeates relationships across Team Thomas.

“We are a warm company. This shows in the way we meet each other, but also in how we look at the future. We work with long-term focus and with the team in mind, not short-sighted or narrow-minded. That combination creates a sense of security and stability,” Angela continues.

It is precisely this sense of stability and pride, combined with commitment, that enables Thomas Concrete Group to keep locally strong units in several countries united as one whole.

“Being among the top three in the Brilliant Awards is proof that we are doing something right. And the most important thing is not just the recognition itself – but that our employees actually feel this strongly about the company,” Angela concludes.
