Who are you?
My name is Anette, I am married and I have two grown children. One still lives at home, and one has moved out. In my free time, I enjoy being near the sea. After sailing for 30 years, we have now bought a summer house on the Swedish west coast!

Tell us about your work-role
I work in the credit department here at Thomas Betong. My job involves having full control over the accounts receivable. For those who don’t know, accounts receivable is the collected information about all our customers. It includes details such as paid and unpaid invoices, payment days, returns, reminders, and more. Another part of my job is to perform credit assessments on existing and new customers. We check the history and information for each customer to minimize our risk. Another part of our job is also to book customer payments, where we retrieve data from the bank that is matched with payments in our invoicing system.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
First, I get coffee! Then the second thing I do every day is check our order list and book customer payments. The order list consists of customers who have credit limit warnings. We then compare that list with the accounts receivable for the customer. Usually, it’s okay, but sometimes we need to check why it exceeds the limit. This may involve contacting the customer, our sales organization, and the relevant responsible parties. Once a week, we also send out payment demands for missing payments, and after three demands, we send them to collections. After the order list is reviewed, customer payments are booked, and payment demands are sent, a large part of my workday involves contact with the organization and customers.
How long have you been at Thomas Betong?
Since January 2018, so about seven years now! I have worked with finance all that time, and in credit since June 2023.
