Say hello to Henry Martin!
When did you start working at Thomas Concrete Inc.?
I started in January 1999.
What was your first role, and what is your role today?
My first role was as Area Manager for the first two plants Thomas acquired in Upstate South Carolina. Today, I serve as Senior Vice President for the Carolinas, supporting our teams across four divisions in both North and South Carolina.
“I’m proud of our commitment to being the best, for both our customers and our employees.”
What does a typical workday look like for you?
I help lead and coach our teams, with a focus on continuously developing both our company culture and the value we offer to our customers.
Tell us a little about yourself.
My wife Kristi and I have been married for 35 years. We have two adult sons and live on our family farm, where we still raise cattle.
What is something you’ve been especially proud to be part of during your career at the company?
I’m particularly proud of the growth and success we’ve achieved in Upstate South Carolina—transforming from a small player with two plants into the clear market leader in the region.
Share a memorable moment from your time at the company.
I vividly remember the pride our teams felt in being part of a highly successful, family-owned business.
How would you describe the company when you first joined? What’s the biggest change since then?
In the beginning, it was challenging to recruit employees who believed in our vision of becoming a market leader. Today, people reach out to us, eager to be part of the culture and work environment we’ve built together.
What has made you enjoy your work and stay with the company for so long?
I’ve always looked forward to coming to work. I’m proud of our commitment to being the best, for both our customers and our employees.
