Say hello to Patrick Wippold!
When did you start working at Thomas Beton GmbH?
I joined Thomas Beton on November 1, 2008.
What was your first role, and what is your current position?
My first role was as a process mechanic at the Hamburg-Eidelstedt plant, where I worked until 2022. Since January 1, 2023, I’ve been the Plant Group Manager for our plants in the Hamburg area.
“Fortunately, the company culture hasn’t changed much, which was actually one of the reasons I wanted to work here in the first place.”
What does a typical workday look like for you?
I ensure that operations run smoothly, manage staffing resources, and work to optimize the utilization of our plants.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m 42 years old and live in Tötensen, just outside Hamburg, with my wife and our two children. In my free time, I play basketball recreationally and love windsurfing. Whenever I get the chance, I head out on the water.
What has made you enjoy your work and stay with the company for so long?
Above all, it’s the family-like atmosphere. It means a lot to me.
What’s something you’re especially proud to have contributed to?
I’m proud to have been involved in the renovation of the historic Elbe Tunnel in Hamburg.
How has the company culture changed over time?
Fortunately, the company culture hasn’t changed much, which was actually one of the reasons I wanted to work here in the first place.
Share a memorable moment from your time with the company.
The launch of the Thomas common brand platform in 2015 was truly an unforgettable moment!
