The concrete used was C30/37 THOMAFLOOR with steel fibers, part of the THOMAGREEN® SILVER product line. This mix achieved a certified 31% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional concrete, corresponding to around 287 tonnes of avoided CO₂. The environmental performance of the material is documented in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and supported by additional third-party verifications.
The concrete mix was specifically designed for industrial flooring applications, featuring:
- Reduced clinker content
- Optimized binder composition
- Transparent raw material sourcing

These characteristics contribute to both the durability of the floor and the sustainability goals of the project. The SEGRO Logistics Centre is targeting DGNB Platinum certification, one of the highest sustainability standards in Germany.
This project demonstrates the practical application of low-carbon concrete in large-scale commercial construction and reflects a growing emphasis on sustainable building practices in the logistics sector.
