Say hello to Eva-Lena!
When did you start working at Thomas Betong AB?
I started in the spring of 2001 through a staffing agency, and after a few months, I was offered a position at Thomas.
What was your first role and what is your role today?
I’ve had the same role the whole time – as an administrator.
“Great colleagues, a good work environment, and strong camaraderie make the job both fun and meaningful.”

What does a typical workday look like for you?
I work with invoicing, coding supplier invoices, and payroll administration. Nowadays, everything is digital, which makes it easy to assist other plants when needed.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in a house in Vänersborg with my husband and our Rottweiler, Sally. She’s just over two years old and keeps an eye on most things and people. Dogs are my biggest interest, so in my free time, I do a lot of dog training. We take obedience and scent detection courses. Otherwise, I enjoy playing padel, reading books, and spending time with my grandchildren who are 9, 7, 5, and 1 years old. They all live nearby, so I have unlimited access!
Tell us about a strong memory from your early years at the company.
I remember a study trip to Rome in the early 2000s with my team. We had a conference in beautiful weather and great company, and of course, we took the opportunity to see many fascinating concrete monuments from Roman times.
How would you briefly describe the company when you started working here? What is the biggest change compared to today?
Back then, everything was on a smaller scale and the work was more local. When it was time for invoicing, I received a stack of drawings, calculated square meters and accessories by hand, and entered it into a Word document. Today, everything is done in the business system and much is automated.
What has made you enjoy your job and stay for so long?
I’ve always enjoyed my job. There’s freedom with responsibility as long as you do your part. Great colleagues, a good work environment, and strong camaraderie make the job both fun and meaningful.
