Say hello to Michael Blomberg!
Who are you?
I’m turning 62 this year and live south of Stockholm with my wife, Annica. I also have two grown daughters, Elin and Johanna. My greatest interests are theater, music, and traveling, especially within Sweden. I spend my summers at our cottage in Falkenberg, where I can truly relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
What was your first role, and what is your role today?
I started in June 1985 as a concrete truck driver in Borås. After six months, I traded the truck for the lab, where I gained new insights into the properties and quality of concrete. That marked the beginning of a long and eventful journey with Thomas Betong AB. This year, I’m celebrating 40 years with the company, and I currently work as a technical sales representative in Stockholm. It is a role I genuinely enjoy.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
As a technical sales representative, my job is to help customers find the best solutions for their projects, whether it’s selecting the right concrete mix or addressing technical questions. It’s an exciting role that allows me to combine my experience with solving new challenges every day.
Tell us about something you’ve been especially proud of during your career at the company.
When our project team successfully achieved ISO certification in 1997. Shortly afterward, several subsidiaries merged, and we had to repeat the entire process. I’m also proud to have been involved from the very beginning when we established operations in Stockholm.
How would you describe the company when you first started? What’s the biggest change since then?
Since I started, both the company and its culture have evolved. The pace is faster and the work environment is more inclusive. It’s a company that’s always striving forward.
What has made you enjoy your work and stay for so long?
I still genuinely enjoy working with the team at Thomas Betong, and I look forward to going to work every morning. It’s the combination of great colleagues, interesting challenges, and a workplace that continues to grow that makes all the difference.
